Barry Leonard

With nearly 30 years of construction experience Barry Leonard has been involved in every aspect of the construction process. He began his construction career early by working as a carpenter’s helper during the summers while he was in high school.

After high school Barry began a career as an independent building contractor in South Central,  PA. In 1987 Barry decided to return to school, and earned an Associated Degree in Architectural Technology from Harrisburg Area Community College. He decided to further his education, and eventually earned his Bachelor’s degree in Structural Design and Construction Engineering Technology from Penn State University. Currently Barry is enrolled in both an MBA program at Lebanon Valley College and a Master of Engineering program at Penn State University.

Since 1992 Barry has been a part of many high profile and interesting projects throughout central Pennsylvania and Maryland. None more so than the $98 million expansion of Beaver Stadium at Penn State University. Barry served as the Senior Project Manager for this project, which included: adding 11,00 seats in the south end zone; 60 luxury suites; a 28,000 s.f. club lounge; a new sports hall of fame; installation of new scoreboards; and various other improvements and renovations.

Barry joined Reynolds Construction Management in 2002, and became part of the team that was working the major additions and renovations the PA State Farm Show Complex. Since completing that project Barry has been assigned many other projects, including: the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology: Science and Technology High School, Market Square Plaza (an 18-story office tower being built in downtown Harrisburg), and the 88 million dollar renovation of Harrisburg City’s Incinerator Plant.

In 2003, Barry won the Project manager of the Year Award from the American Subcontractors Association of Central Pennsylvania.

Recently, Barry earned his American Institute of Constructors certification, and he is presently preparing to sit for his Certified Construction Manager test from the Construction Management Association of America.

Barry is also a part time instructor at the Penn State Harrisburg School of Engineering.

In his free time, Barry enjoys riding his motorcycle, building furniture, and working with stained glass. Barry is also a certified SCUBA diver, and enjoys diving in the Caribbean.
